On April 29th Dannon & Stephanie were married in the Salt Lake Temple. The day of the wedding the weather man said it was supposed to snow! I was worried. I can only imagine how Stephanie must have felt. But as usual the weather man was wrong. It didn’t snow the entire day. But it was COLD!!! So cold, that we took very few pictures on Temple Square.
After the family pictures on the Temple’s steps, everyone started to head home. I thought, “Here I am at the temple, in Sunday dress… I could go through a Temple session.” The Ogden Temple had just closed for renovation and I had not attended a session for a few months. So I ventured over to the check-in desk. The nice gentlemen told me that the next session started in 40mins. Wow! I was not in the mood to wait that long. But it didn’t matter because the Alpha and Omega, had a trick up his sleeve. As I walked out of the Temple, Stephanie’s family turned the corner, saw me and hustled in my direction. Slightly out of breath one of them said, ” I am so glad to see you! We don’t have a car to get back to Ogden, they left us.” Come to find out, 10 or so people were stranded at the temple, INCLUDING the Bride and Groom! I told them that I had a few seats in my car, and I could take them to their houses. At first they wanted me to take the Bride and Groom! I felt honored.
As we waited for Stephanie to change and exit the Temple I had the chance to talk to Dannon. He is going into Theater Education. I loved my theater class in high school. No No, I was not an Actor (said with french accent). I was a Techie. I love light and have a passion for theatical lighting design. I studied it all through High School and at the University of Utah.
Plans changed and I ended up taking Stephanie’s mother and brother to Ogden. It was a short hour drive. Stephanie’s mother had me talking about life decisions. I love how you can meet someone for the first time and have deep conversations about life. To sum up our conversion, Family, Love, and Spiritual Blessings. Stephanie you have a great mother.
The Simonson’s reception was held in an Ogden LDS Church. I agreed very much with their food of choice. ICE CREAM! Don’t tell my wife but if I could do our reception over again it would be ICE CREAM and CEREAL!
